Step 2: Understand Your Local Permits and Requirements

Greover Beach and San Luis Obispo County require permits for water heater installation. I handle this, but you should know it's part of the process.

The permit exists for a reason — to make sure the installation is safe, the connections are right, and the unit is properly vented (if you have a gas heater).
