Los Osos has a character all its own — it's a community that grew organically over several decades without a traditional downtown, and the housing stock reflects that: you'll find 1960s beach cottages in Baywood Park sitting right on the bay, mid-century homes in the Sea Pines area on larger wooded lots, and a real mix of property types out toward Montana de Oro. The proximity to Morro Bay and the estuary means humidity levels are consistently high, and that has real consequences for homes here — we see more wood rot, more moisture-related drywall damage, and more issues with doors and windows that swell and stick compared to communities just a few miles inland.
