Why Fence Installation & Repair Matters for Santa Maria Homes

Central Coast fences take a beating from the marine layer, coastal wind, and UV. Wood fences in particular need proper treatment and quality lumber to avoid rot and warping. Willy uses materials suited to the coastal climate and sets posts with proper concrete footings so fences stay plumb for years.

Common Fencing Problems We Solve in Santa Maria

Leaning or falling fence posts

Willy re-sets or replaces rotted or damaged posts with new concrete footings — often saving the existing boards and rails.

Rotted fence boards

Individual board replacement is usually much cheaper than full fence replacement. Willy can replace sections while keeping the existing structure.

Old fence that needs full replacement

Willy removes the old fence, sets new posts, and installs new rails and boards — or helps you upgrade to low-maintenance vinyl.

Gate that won't latch or hangs crooked

Willy repairs or replaces gate hinges, latches, and post supports to get your gate working properly again.

How It Works

1

Measurement & line check

Willy measures your fence line and discusses material and style options that fit your needs and budget.

2

Property line verification

Willy recommends verifying property lines before installation to avoid neighbor disputes.

3

Post setting

Posts are set in concrete at the correct depth for your fence height — this is the most important step for a fence that stays straight.

4

Rails, boards & gate

Rails and boards are installed level and properly spaced, with gates hung for smooth, self-latching operation.

Pricing in Santa Maria

Locally Based, Santa Maria Trusted

Santa Maria is the largest city on the Central Coast and has a housing inventory that spans nearly a century. The older neighborhoods around Downtown and the Broadway corridor have homes dating to the 1930s and 40s — these properties often have original cast iron drain lines, dated electrical panels in areas where we're doing renovation work nearby, and plenty of deferred maintenance to address. Out toward the Blosser Road and College Park areas, there's a large stock of 1960s and 70s ranch homes where we regularly get called in for flooring upgrades (carpet coming out, LVP going in is probably the most common project we do in this part of town), interior painting, and plumbing fixture replacements. The newer developments near Preisker Park and along Betteravia Road are more recent construction from the 1990s forward, where jobs tend to be more cosmetic — fresh paint, new flooring, deck builds, and the occasional bathroom update. Santa Maria's warmer, sunnier climate means exterior paint and wood fencing hold up reasonably well, though the strong afternoon winds that funnel through from the coast can do real damage to fences and patio covers.
